Hunter Education at the Nature Center
Hunter Education at the Nature Center, 4600 S. Nature Center Way. This 10-hour course is required for anyone born after January 1, 1967, who wants to hunt with firearms in Missouri. Saving Birds And Habitat On The Gulf Coast at the Nature Center, 4600 S. Nature Center Way, 7-8 p.m. The Greater Ozarks Audubon Society is teaming with the nature center for this firsthand account of the Audubon Oil Response Team and their on-the-ground efforts to save birds and to protect fragile ecosystems damaged by the worst oil spill in US history. David Ringer, of Audubon’s Mississippi River Initiative in Vicksburg, Mississippi, returns to Springfield for this important update. Ringer’s interest in birding began in high school with his involvement with the Greater Ozarks Audubon Society. Program participants are invited to attend the local Audubon chapter meeting and reception following the program. Ages 12-adult. Registration required.
